AN ESSENTIAL PART OF A HEALTHY LIFESTYLE

Researchers discovered that when collagen (the “building blocks” of all animal tissues) is broken down, the factors that are released can benefit our bodies in countless ways. The result of broken down collagen is gelatin. The gelatin, not found in the fake store-bought stocks/ broths, is the key to getting the benefits. The benefits of bone broth (alternatively known as “stock”) are numerous, and the history of its use can be traced back to even our most ancient ancestors. For countless years, moms have been touting the miraculous healing effects of broth, and the science shows that she has always been right!

Bone Broths, made from a variety of animal sources (beef, chicken, pork, fish, etc), were for our ancestors, a way of allowing them to use and benefit from all parts of the animals that provided them with sustenance.  By boiling the parts of the animals that they couldn’t traditionally eat, they were able to extract an amazing amount of nutrition.

Benefits of Bone Broth

Potential benefits include:

  • Works in an anti-inflammatory capacity.
  • Faster recovery from injury and sport.
  • Decreases in food allergies (such as gluten and lactose).
  • Reduces symptoms of digestive disorders (such as IBS, Crohn’s disease, acid reflux, and leaky gut).
  • Improves proper probiotic balance in the digestive system.
  • Increases collagen reducing appearance of wrinkles
  • Supports healthy bone density and strength.
  • Promotes healthy skin, hair, and nails.

They are packed with collagen protein, amino acids, and minerals that are easily absorbed into our bodies.  Extremely high in nutrients, bone broth helps address some of North America’s top nutritional deficiencies. They even contain glucosamine, and chondroitin sulphate… something most of us have paid a lot of money for at the supplement store!

Many of the listed benefits are the result of having high concentrations of these important amino acids:

\

Glutamine

Acts as fuel for intestinal cell metabolism.

Protects lining of the gut.

Works in metabolism and muscle building.

\

Glycine

Protects from protein (muscle) breakdown.

Used in production of Glutathione and bile salts.

Acts as an antioxidant.

Improves sleep, memory, and performance.

\

Proline

Helps in regeneration of cartilage and healing of  joints.

Helps repair leaky gut syndrome.

Reduces appearance of wrinkles in the skin.

Reduces cellulite.

\

Arginine

Helps regenerate damaged liver cells.

Used in healing and immune system function.

Used in production of growth hormone.

Used in the production of sperm.

Everything you need to know about collagen!

  • Comprises 30% of all the protein in your body, and 70% of the protein in your skin
  • It is the “scaffolding” for cells, tissues and organs, and is responsible for the strength, flexibility, and elasticity of all tissues
  • As we age naturally, collagen production decreases significantly leading to weaker and less elastic skin, blood vessels, ligaments, muscles and tendons. This leads to tearing injuries, wrinkles, hardened blood vessels, and digestive issues.
  • Interestingly it is also the case that there are ways to cause collagen to break down faster than the natural effects of aging:

Smoking has been shown to accelerate collagen breakdown to an extreme level. Leading to hardening of arteries, wrinkles in the skin, digestive tract damage, eyesight issues, and countless musculoskeletal issues. Exposure to ultraviolet light and a high sugar diet has been shown to have similar effects as well.

  • It cannot be absorbed through the skin, so you can stop buying beauty products with topical collagen in them!
  • Type 1 collagen fibrils are, pound for pound, stronger than steel

When extracted naturally through simmering bones, the collagen (in the form of gelatin and amino acids), can be consumed and absorbed easily by the GI tract.

It doesn’t matter if you are an elite athlete, a senior with sore knees or just a person seeking optimal wellness…

BONED Broth is an essential part of a healthy lifestyle. Folklore speaks of a philosophy that says “Eat what ails you.”  Amazingly, even hundreds of years ago, we were on the right track: for the health of bones and joints. Eat the nutrients from bones and joints!!  Your aching muscles are made of protein, and so in eating the amino acids that are used to build those muscles, you can speed up the healing process!

It is an extremely easy, inexpensive and wholesome way to help take your health to the next level.

Ask yourself:

If you wear out the body you live in, where will you live?

Make the decision to take charge of your health in the healthiest and most natural way.

Health is by choice, not by chance.

A Note from Dr. Christian Brix

Research shows that osteoarthritis (degenerative joint disease) is one of the most prevalent musculoskeletal issues in North America.  As we get older, the prevalence increases. It is estimated that moderate to severe osteoarthritis can be found in 60% of people in their 60’s, 70% of people in their 70’s, and 80% of people in their 80’s. The importance of taking care of our joints cannot be over-stated.

In my Chiropractic practice, I see hundreds of patients who all function at very different levels. Most of us know someone in their 70’s who can still go swimming and skiing, but we also know someone in their 70’s who can really only sit most of the time. Time and time again, the difference comes down to the health of their joints. If you wear out this body, where will you live?

The key to healthy bones and joints can be very simple.

It is important to keep the joints moving. Regular exercise is the most significant way to keep the joints and bones mobile, stable and strong. Sometimes aquatic exercise or low-impact exercises are better if someone already has increased levels of degeneration, but for those who don’t, weight-bearing exercise for minimum 30 minutes 5 times per week is the key.

The second factor (and the much easier part!) is proper nutrition for your bones and joints. Calcium supplementation for decreased bone density has been shown to help and in some more severe cases, medication may be required. For the joints specifically, the proper amino acids and other nutrients MUST be a part of our diets. Supplementation with Glucosamine, MSM, chondroitin Sulfate and others have been shown to be effective in reduction of the symptoms of osteoarthritis (DJD). As well, there is a myriad of vitamins, minerals, and amino acids that are required to keep the joints mobile and healthy. The fluid that bathes every joint in your body (synovial fluid) needs all these factors to keep the joints fed and lubricated.

The ingredients in BONED broth have been shown in research to support your body’s ability to manage and even improve osteoporosis, osteoarthritis, autoimmune disorders, and digestive distress. It contains all the necessary ingredients to get your bones, joints, immune system, digestive system, and even your skin working the way they were meant to. Bone broth is the most efficient and natural way to deliver all this nutrition to your body without spending a fortune at the supplement store on products that may not even contain what they say on the bottle.

BONED Broth is what I recommend as often as possible.
